Leytonstone Repair Café run by Waltham Forest Council - St John’s Church Hall

St John's Church Hall, High Road, Leytonstone, E11 1HH

17 November 2018 11:00 - 14:00

Please note:  this Repair Café event is run by Waltham Forest Council and is not part of the NLWA Repair Café programme.

The Repair Café Leytonstone is back at St John’s Church Hall (High Rd, Leytonstone, E11 1HH). The Café runs on the third Saturday of each month between 11am- 2pm. Residents are invited to bring along their broken items and learn how to get them fixed for free.

This year we’re looking for volunteers who are passionate about repair and upcycling to join our team of fixers. Whether you like mending small electrical items, have DIY skills, or can fix or upcycle something completely different, come along to an event and share your skills with others. To talk about volunteering at an event please email wasteteam@walthamforest.gov.uk.

Everything is free to attend but you may need to book your place in advance for a specific workshop. The programme of events is listed in the drop-down menus below- note that each month is slightly different. More events may be added at a later date so keep an eye out for any updates.

Doors open: 11am to 2pm

What’s planned?

  • Basic Bicycle Maintenance Course: Cycle Confident is teaching attendees how to carry out basic repairs on their bicycles. Please note that there are limited spaces for this course, to book your place please visit https://www.cycleconfident.com/courses/maintenance/.
  • Furniture restoration workshop: Forest Recycling Project’s in-house furniture restoration expert will show you how to fix up your tired pieces of furniture. Bring along your own piece and learn the skills you need while you work on it.
  • TRAID: learn how to repair or restyle your ripped clothes.
