Bulky waste collection

Bulky waste or bulky refuse is used to describe waste that is too large to be accepted by regular waste collection. It is usually picked up separately from general rubbish and you may have to pay a fee to have it removed. In north London the seven boroughs offer a range of services for this material to be collected often working with re-use organisations:
Barnet offers a special collection service for bulky waste. Once placed outside of your property the council can remove most unwanted bulky household items. Charge payable in advance. The London Borough of Camden provides a collection and disposal service for large household items that aren’t in good enough condition to reuse (charge may apply) and a white goods collection service (charge may apply).

Hackney offer a collection service for bulky items. Collections start at £15, but residents who receive housing benefit do not have to pay.

In Haringey You can book special collections for bulky items through the council's contractor Veolia for a charge.

If you live in a street property or flat in Islington you can arrange a free bulky waste collection for domestic rubbish through My eAccount, or if you live on an estate this can be arranged through your caretaker.
Residents can have up to five items of bulky waste collected three times per year by appointment. This annual allowance includes the collection 'white goods' items, such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and cookers. Monday to Friday only.

In Waltham Forest the Council provides a collection service from residential properties for bulky waste that is not suitable to be collected as part of the weekly household refuse/recycling collection. A charge for this service may apply.
