On Wednesday 7 March 2018, North London Waste Authority (NLWA) will run its fourth North London Waste Prevention Exchange at Inmarsat Conference Centre, 99 City Road, London, EC1Y 1AX. As with previous years, the conference will consist of a morning session with presentations and an afternoon workshop. The focus will be food waste prevention and will examine the different approaches and how to secure long term behaviour change.
The morning session will be chaired by Councillor Clyde Loakes, Chair of NLWA and Deputy Leader of London Borough of Waltham Forest who will invite speakers from across the UK and Europe to share their experiences and expertise.
The conference will include a UK perspective on approaches towards food waste behaviour change from Resource London, and a European perspective from Brussels Environment. There will be representatives from a range of sectors, including academics, retailers and the third sector. With a focus on consumer engagement, representatives from Sainsbury’s will discuss the role of supermarkets in reducing household food waste whilst representatives from Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund will make links between food waste prevention and surplus food redistribution in the UK.
The afternoon workshop, open to all delegates, will aim to put learning from the morning session into practice by exploring priorities when devising a waste prevention programme.
There will be plenty of opportunities for delegates to network, and attend the information stalls during breaks. Lunch will be provided with recipes taken from our own North London Food Lovers' Cookbook.
Registration will open soon - for more information, please contact email@example.com
